What's typically covered
Sudden, accidental damage from wind, hail, fire, falling trees, and similar perils is usually covered. Gradual wear, age-related deterioration, and pre-existing damage are not.
Document everything immediately
Take dated photos and video of damage as soon as it's safe. Save weather reports for the date of the storm. Don't throw away damaged materials before the adjuster sees them.
Get a roofer involved early
An experienced roofer can identify damage an untrained eye misses (lifted shingles, hidden ridge cap issues, flashing damage). SOLITO meets adjusters on-site to make sure nothing legitimate gets denied.
Avoid common pitfalls
Don't sign over your insurance check to a contractor (AOB). Don't accept the first low offer if damage is more extensive than the adjuster captured. Get a second opinion before agreeing to a partial-roof patch when a full replacement is warranted.
