Warranty Information

What's covered — and for how long.

Warranty terms vary depending on the financing provider, manufacturer, and installation partner. Here's how to think about coverage for the two most common scenarios.

Purchased Systems

When you own your system, coverage is a combination of separate warranties from the equipment manufacturers and your installation partner.

Solar panel manufacturer warranty

Typically 25 years on panel performance and 12–25 years on product defects, depending on manufacturer.

Microinverter / inverter warranty

10–25 years depending on equipment selected.

Battery warranty

Typically 10 years on cells and electronics. Some manufacturers also guarantee throughput or capacity.

Workmanship warranty

Installation workmanship coverage varies by installation partner — we'll show you the specific terms before you sign.

Roof penetration warranty

When required, coverage on the roof penetrations made during install. Often 10+ years.

Solar PPA Programs

A Power Purchase Agreement is bundled coverage. The provider owns the system, so they handle the maintenance, monitoring, and performance for the life of the agreement.

System monitoring

Production is monitored for the life of the agreement — issues are typically caught before you notice.

Maintenance & repairs

Standard maintenance and repairs to the system are included at no extra cost.

Performance guarantee

Most PPA programs guarantee a minimum annual production. If the system underproduces, the provider compensates.

Equipment replacement

Failed inverters, microinverters, or panels are replaced under the provider's program.

Service support

Dedicated support team for the duration of your agreement.

Roof penetration warranty

Where applicable, the install partner warrants the roof penetrations made for the system.

Purchase options

Some PPA programs allow you to buy out the system after a set number of years.

Home sale transfer assistance

If you sell your home, the provider helps transfer the agreement to the new homeowner.

All warranty terms above are typical examples. Actual coverage depends on the equipment installed, the financing or PPA provider, and the installation partner. We'll walk you through the exact warranty documents before you sign anything.
